Crankcase ventilation management A correctly functioning oil separator is needed to regulate the pressure in the crankcase of heavy diesel engines. The system prevents oil mist from entering the intake tract, which helps to maintain engine performance and meet emission requirements in both the transport and agricultural sectors. Membranes and complete units The most common defect is a torn or hardened crankcase ventilation membrane, which leads to an incorrect pressure balance and possible oil leaks. febi supplies these membranes separately, but also offers complete oil separators for a full system overhaul. Installation with the correct seals A leak-free installation is important for the engine's operation. Therefore, the separators are often supplied as a complete set, including the required gaskets and sealing rings. This prevents extra searching and helps to get the repair right the first time. The connecting ventilation hoses should also be checked for blockages.
