Foundation for a running engine The flywheel is a heavy, rotating part that allows the engine to run smoothly and forms the connection to the clutch. In the heavy diesel engines of trucks and agricultural machinery, the correct balance and mass of the flywheel are decisive for a vibration-free driveline and a long service life for the crankshaft bearings. A good start with the right ring gear The starter ring gear, which is mounted on the flywheel, is a key wear part. After thousands of starts, the teeth can become damaged, preventing the starter motor from engaging properly. febi supplies individual starter ring gears that fit exactly, allowing the starter motor to engage reliably again. Correct sealing is necessary during installation to prevent oil from reaching the clutch, which is why febi also supplies the corresponding OE-compliant seals.
